Assitive Innovations to launch iEAT and iFLOAT at Rehacare
Compact and user-friendly support devices for people with minimal muscle function or limited hand coordination.
Didam, 5 October 2015. Assistive Innovations will present its latest products, the iEAT and iFLOAT at the Rehacare International Trade Fair.
The iEAT, a compact feeding device specially developed for people with minimal muscle function or limited hand coordination. The iFLOAT is an arm support designed for people with reduced muscle function. With these new devices, Assistive Innovations offers state-of-the-art, user-friendly alternatives to existing feeding and arm support devices which help extend our clients’ independence.
The iEAT is one of the feeding devices in our assortment. The iEAT is available in various models, it supports the user at meals by coordinating the necessary movements. For people who suffer from spasms or tremors it works by nullifying uncontrolled movements using a damping mechanism. The device’s so-called feeding arm offers resistance which makes it possible for the user to perform controlled movements during eating.
For people with reduced muscle power and-or coordination problems, the iEAT works by offering almost no resistance which makes it possible for the user to perform controlled eating movements using little power. The iEAT offers full control to the user making them an equal, independent partner at dinner.
The iFLOAT compensates the arm’s weight, giving it a long horizontal and vertical reach with little effort. It is especially the iFLOAT’s vertical movement compensation that makes daily chores such as eating, drinking and personal care like combing hair and cleaning teeth so much simpler to perform. The iFLOAT can be fitted to a table (via a clamp) or (wheel)chair (via a bracket).
The Rehacare is an international trade fair for rehabilitation, prevention and care. With thirty years of market experience, the Rehacare fair is the ideal platform for everyone with a handicap, care needs, chronic illness and for the elderly. The trade fair takes place from 14 to 17 October in the Messe, Düsseldorf. Assistive Innovations is located in Hall 5 stand E28. Besides the iEAT and iFLOAT demonstrations, other devices which support people with limited arm, hand or finger function will be on display.
