Marcel Gerber - That's how he rolls

06/08/2016

Family, friends and wheelchair basketball – these are the elementary things in the life of Marcel Gerber. His next goal: he wants to try driving a kart. Why Will Smith should represent him in the movie about his life and what he knows about God, he tells us at REHACARE.com.

When did you last laugh heartily and what about?

Marcel Gerber:
Yesterday, I helped a girl with spasticity to throw a ball into the basketball hoop for the first time. Her enjoyment was contagious.

What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?

Marcel Gerber: In the past, driving a kart was a big injury risk for me. Today, I’m in a better physical condition. So I want to try it out.

Which person has influenced you most?

Marcel Gerber: I cannot name just one important person. But I have learned early to learn from all people in my vicinity – both, the "good" and "bad" people.

You have the chance to become the German Federal Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?

Marcel Gerber: At first, I would submit level access boarding into trains from the German Railways – with the help of refurbishments.

Your life is made into a film: Who would represent you?

Marcel Gerber:
I guess, it would be Will Smith – because of the similar skin color and the hair.

I would like to be ...

Marcel Gerber: a spaceman. I think, it changes the way you see problems of life.

Which questions would you like answered the most?

Marcel Gerber: Did school really pay off for me or could I have done something better with the time?

What I finally want to say...

Marcel Gerber: I met God. She’s black.
