There is a new fare structure for all taxi rides. The new basic charge is called "City-Tarif". The cost is 5.50 EUR and already includes a ride of up to 2 km. Within the 5.50 EUR a waiting period of up to 2 minutes is also included. Should there be longer waiting periods (due to traffic conditions or per passenger request); there will be a charge of 0.45 EUR per minute. After the first two kilometres, each additional kilometre will cost 1.70 EUR, regardless of whether it is day, night, Sunday or a holiday.

In every single Düsseldorf taxi there must be a sticker with the new taxi fare system.
