Up- and Downhill with Handbike and Dog
The 40-year old Alexander Epp from South Germany does not really like comfortable hotel rooms. Several times a year he packs his baggage and disappears with hand bike and his favourite travel companion, a dog, into the mountains – without help and without a tent. REHACARE.de talked to him about his intentions to do so.

Sports for Parkinson's Patients
Without feeling sad Udo Schröers points to the several cups and pictures that he won during his active soccer carrer and mentions his successes and activities. Soccer was his passion as an active player, a licenced referee and also as a board member of the soccer club SV Hohenheide. He led an ordinary life until fate showed him the red card: Parkinson - the diagnosis his doctors gave him.

A national nonprofit, organization established in 1967 by disabled Vietnam veterans to serve the war injured. They offer nationwide sports rehabilitation programs to anyone with a permanent disability. Activities include winter skiing, water sports, summer and winter competitions, fitness and special sports events.

DSNI is Northern Ireland's main disability sports organisation and is representative of the vast majority of Northern Ireland's disability sports club's and organisations. The Deaflympic Games
They are among the world's fastest growing sports events. More than 3,000 deaf athletes and officials from 75 nations participated in the 20th Summer Games in Melbourne, Australia, in January, 2005. Approximately 300 athletes from 20 nations are expected to qualify for the 16th Winter Deaflympics to be hosted by Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States in 2007.

The International Paralympic Committee is the international representative organisation of elite sports for athletes with disabilities. IPC organises, supervises and co-ordinates the Paralympic Games and other multi-disability competitions on elite sports level, of which the most important are world and regional championships. It is an international non-profit organisation formed and run by 160 National Paralympic Committees and 5 disability specific international sports federations.
