People from across the UK have been given a chance to occupy the empty Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in London, a space normally reserved for statues of Kings and Generals.

Every hour, 24 hours a day, for 100 days without a break, a different person has been making the Plinth their own. The project has been running since early July and will end on 14th October, and there is still time to apply for one of the final places, with applications accepted until 1st September. If you're selected, you can use your time on the plinth as you like and what better way to raise awareness of British Sign Language?

32 year-old British Sign Language user, Gillian O'Hagan, from Banbridge, County Down, will take to the plinth dressed as a mermaid on 24th August to promote Limepie, a newly created arts organisation in Northern Ireland. Gillian was the graphic designer for Limepie, creating their logo and poster.

One & Other is open to anyone and everyone from any corner of the UK. As long as you're 16 or over and are living or staying in the UK, you can apply to be part of this unforgettable artistic experiment. So what are you waiting for? Go to this link and apply now: www.oneandother.co.uk/about
