Wheelchair Curling Team through to Semi-Finals in the Paralympic Winter Games


On the fifth day of paralympic Winter Games Britain's wheelchair curlers beat USA 5-2. With that victory Great Britain now reached the semi-final at the Paralympic Winter Games in Turin.

The all Scottish team go on to play against Sweden in the semi-finals on Friday. Wheelchair Curling Team Manager Ena Stevenson said: "We set out to reach the semi-finals and now we've achieved that we're going for gold. The team are all confident and focused for the semi-final match against Sweden on Friday.”

Great Britain's ice sledge hockey team had a less successful day losing 3-0 to Sweden in their play-off for fifth place. They will now face either Japan or Italy on Friday to contest seventh place.

Alpine Skier Liz Miller is back in action on the slopes today, competing in the Women's Giant Slalom.
Twenty-six year-old Miller, from Brockenhurst, Hampshire finished tenth in the Downhill on Saturday and 16th in the Super-G on Monday.
