Life for brothers and sisters of disabled children is sometimes hard. Since the handicap attracts most of the family’s attention they feel neglected. This can really be depressing. Her sister is three years younger than her and not able to speak, walk and grap correctly due to amyasthenia. In an interview with REHACARE.de, the 28-year old Kathrin Hornung explains how her sister’s handicap influenced her life.

Healthy children often suffer from the circumstance that handicapped siblings receive more parental attention than they do. They keep their worries to themselves and nobody thusly notices it although talks with parents and other children would change a lot.
