REHACARE.de talked to the Austrian Raphael Eder about happiness, his desires and aims.
REHACARE.de: What makes you get up in the morning?
Raphael Eder: To keep actively pursuing my professional and personal goals. On the weekends this might occasionally happen a little later in the day.
REHACARE.de: What is your favorite place and why?
Raphael Eder: There are many places for me where I feel protected and secure. Places, which provide a feeling of security, cosmopolitanism, vastness, honesty, love, untouched nature – those are my favorite places. In the woods, on the mountain, a river, the ocean, a lake, in and in front of impressive buildings, which give you a sense of history.
REHACARE.de: Who or what impresses you?
Raphael Eder: People who follow their convictions and don’t waiver in the face of adversity (provided that it does not harm other people), we don’t have enough of them. The serenity and honesty of animals.
REHACARE.de: What is your most valuable possession?
Raphael Eder: Though I don’t own my partner, I share my life with her and she is very precious to me. The same goes for my friends and my family. My spirit, my ideas and my creativity are valuable possessions.
REHACARE.de: What are you fed up with?
Raphael Eder: With dishonesty, ruthlessness, intolerance, short-sightedness and pressure to innovate, the lack of perspective of decision-makers.
REHACARE.de: What makes you relax the most?
Raphael Eder: Cooking, grilling, driving my car, watching TV and going for hikes

REHACARE.de: What makes you happy?
Raphael Eder: To accomplish my goals and realize my dreams, to treat somebody to something nice, to be with people that I treasure and to travel.
REHACARE.de: Is there something you should throw away, but won’t?
Raphael Eder: Since I will move soon, I am sure I will throw away a lot of things.
REHACARE.de: Name three things that make for a fulfilled life!
Raphael Eder: Well-being, friends, love
REHACARE.de: When was the last time you felt blown away by something?
Raphael Eder: I keep feeling overwhelmed by my partner’s affection, and how she always backs me, my projects, my goals and my crazy ideas up.
REHACARE.de: What questions would you like to know the answer to?
Raphael Eder: Why do people have to starve, even though we have enough to eat for everyone? Why do people have to die of diseases, if there are drugs for them? Why are we not able to make the switch to alternative energies, even though it is better for our climate and totally feasibly and more healthy for everyone? I have many more questions.
REHACARE.de: What makes a person rich?
Raphael Eder: When a person remains true to themselves, vouches for their ideals and finds contentment and love.
REHACARE.de: What is your philosophy of life?
Raphael Eder: I have never thought about it – I just live my life, and then I see what my philosophy would have been based on that.
