Occupation: EU-pensioner, but holding down an almost full-time job as a honorary employee

REHACARE.de talked to Ines Reimann, vice chairwoman of the German Hearing-Impaired Self-Help, about happiness, her desires and photographing.

REHACARE.de: What makes you get up in the morning?
Ines Reimann: Everybody needs to use the bathroom, and once I am already up, I just start with my day... This does not necessarily mean having a full schedule every day, it can be a little less hectic, too once in a while... I reserve the right to determine on my own, how my day will go.

REHACARE.de: What is your favorite place and why?
Ines Reimann: My private space in life: To capture nature, people and events with my camera, where I do not have to listen to anyone...

REHACARE.de: Who or what impresses you?
Ines Reimann: People, who have a healthy relationship towards taking and giving...

REHACARE.de: What is your most valuable possession?
Ines Reimann: You only know when it is taken from you...

REHACARE.de: What are you fed up with?
Ines Reimann: When a person, who hears well and whom you have a conversation with, tells you if you have to ask him:”What was being said was not important…”

REHACARE.de: What makes you relax the most?
Ines Reimann: Reading and taking pictures.

REHACARE.de: What makes you happy?
Ines Reimann: If I can make people happy with small things, for example with something I made myself or other things that come easy to me.

REHACARE.de: Is there something you should throw away, but won’t?
Ines Reimann: My past.

REHACARE.de: Name three things that make for a fulfilled life!
Ines Reimann: • Health, love, harmony and grateful respect in a family
• To erect tiny monuments: photographs, working on a board of directors
• Lust for life, being satisfied with what you’ve got

REHACARE.de: When was the last time you felt blown away by something?
Ines Reimann: By sincere condolences expressed during a big personal loss a short while ago

REHACARE.de: What questions would you like to know the answer to?
Ines Reimann: Why?

REHACARE.de: When was the last time you felt like hiding from something?
Ines Reimann: That is quite a long time ago, I don’t know anymore.

REHACARE.de: What makes a person rich?
Ines Reimann: It certainly is not money.

REHACARE.de: What is your philosophy of life?
Ines Reimann: Today is the first day of the rest of your life – Carpe diem!

REHACARE.de: Who else should we be asking these questions of?
Ines Reimann: Everybody, who likes to contemplate about themselves and are gladly willing to make the time for it.
