REHACARE.de: What makes you get up in the morning?
Karsten Thormaehlen: For a good breakfast...

REHACARE.de: What is your favorite place and why?
Karsten Thormaehlen: The couch at my studio in Frankfurt – I get my best ideas there.

REHACARE.de: Who or what impresses you?
Karsten Thormaehlen: People who are self-contained and those who let their hair down.

REHACARE.de: What is your most valuable possession?
Karsten Thormaehlen: My "girls".

REHACARE.de: What are you fed up with?
Karsten Thormaehlen: With greed, envy and stupidity.

REHACARE.de: What makes you relax the most?
Karsten Thormaehlen: Interestingly enough, it’s when I do many things at once.

REHACARE.de: What makes you happy?
Karsten Thormaehlen: To know, that I get to sleep in the next morning.

REHACARE.de: Is there something you should throw away, but won’t?
Karsten Thormaehlen: Yes, some chunky, indestructible work shoes that I bought 17 years ago in New York and that feel like I maybe wore them twice.

REHACARE.de: Name three things that make for a fulfilled life!
Karsten Thormaehlen: Love, health and creative urges.

REHACARE.de: When was the last time you felt blown away by something?
Karsten Thormaehlen: I reckon it was last summer while I looked out from the hotel patio onto the Ionian Sea in the nighttime.

REHACARE.de: What questions would you like to know the answer to?
Karsten Thormaehlen: When will we humans finally learn from our mistakes?

REHACARE.de: When was the last time you felt like hiding from something?
Karsten Thormaehlen: When during an evening event, I was asked to belly-dance by a dancer during a production in Turkey.

REHACARE.de: What makes a person rich?
Karsten Thormaehlen: Kindness, wisdom and contentment.

REHACARE.de: What is your philosophy of life?
Karsten Thormaehlen: No pain, no gain.

REHACARE.de: Who else should we be asking these questions of?
Karsten Thormaehlen: This last question is the most difficult one and unfortunately needs to remain unanswered.
