RNIB Shop for Blind Customers In Liverpool
RNIB staff will demonstrate to customers the latest computer software and technology available for people with sight problems who will also be able to subscribe to ‘Talking Books’ or the latest ‘Audio Described’’ videos.
Helen Steward, Manager of the RNIB shop and Resource Centre says: “Along with blind and partially sighted customers, we anticipate that sighted people will visit our shop and resource centre to buy on behalf of blind and partially sighted family members and friends. People with sight problems will be welcome to try out any of our products - such as easy to see watches and task lamps”.
The shop and resource centre is the biggest of its kind outside London. Products are designed to make every day activities such as cooking, reading making a phone call or simply relaxing much easier for blind and partially sighted people.
The shop is housed in a brand new building, the Gateway Centre, London Road, Liverpool. The building incorporates the latest colour contrasting and decorative design schemes, with Braille and clear print signage which enable blind and partially sighted people get about more easily.
