Name: Diana Schütz
Age: 39
City: Heidelberg, Germany
Occupation: Office administrator
Handicap: Amputated upper leg

Monkeying around with her friends – that is the best way to relax. Because laughing until tears come – that is good. REHACARE.de spoke with Diana Schütz, who has an amputated leg, about her active life, her husband, with whom she does impossible things, and semolina pudding with cherries.

REHACARE.de: When did you last laugh heartily and what about?
Diana Schütz: Last week. I visited my family and friends after a long time. In the evening we laughed a lot – that felt so good.

REHACARE.de: What is your favourite place? And why?
Diana Schütz: I know a lot of nice places but one of the most beautiful ones was California. There is a lot of nature. People there are friendly and I would go there again and again.

REHACARE.de: The last meal in my life would be…
Diana Schütz: Definitely semolina pudding with cherries. I don’t know why but cinnamon and sugar is a bad match with it.

REHACARE.de: Which person has influenced you most?
Diana Schütz: My husband for the last six years. With him I have done the craziest things. This is why I know that there is still more and I like this feeling.

REHACARE.de: Is there something you should throw away, but won’t?
Diana Schütz: No. I give away clothes I haven’t worn for over one year. I do not hoard useless things.

REHACARE.de: If you were to win one million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?
Diana Schütz: A caravan would be luxury. And then we cruise the whole spring and autumn long. I love camping and just being in nature, listening to other people’s snoring and so on.

REHACARE.de: Which moment of your life would you like to relive?
Diana Schütz: One moment would be too short, my whole youth. And I would like to be 20 again.

REHACARE.de: I would like to be …
Diana Schütz: On two legs again and then I would like to know if I was the same person I am now and if I would try as many things as I am doing at the moment.

REHACARE.de: What are you fed up about?
Diana Schütz: About too much work and to less live. Something is going wrong here.

REHACARE.de: How can you relax the best?
Diana Schütz: When I am together with my friends.

REHACARE.de: I enjoy listening to music by …
Diana Schütz: Different things: from music of the eighties, Electronic Body Music to Indie-Rock. I love visiting the Mera Luna Festival.

REHACARE.de: Which questions would you like answered the most?
Diana Schütz: Is everything in the cards? And if yes, what will be?

REHACARE.de: What are you most afraid of?
Diana Schütz: Of getting old because there are so many things that I like to do.

REHACARE.de: What else would you like to accomplish in life?
Diana Schütz: Many things. I want to help other amputated people and their relatives to get their life back together.
