Quad tennis: Norfolk Continues Outstanding Form
It was Norfolk's fourth title in his last five tournaments and ensured he stretched his advantage at the top of the world rankings. Norfolk swept aside Israel's Shraga Weinberg 6-3, 6-2 to take the Lakeshore Foundation title, after reaching the semi-finals of the tournament last year. It was sweet revenge for his defeat in the semi-finals of the 2003 quad doubles, when Weinberg and Haim Lev beat number one seeds Norfolk and his compatriot Mark Eccleston 7-5, 6-4. The Israelis went on to take the doubles title.
Quad tennis makes its Paralympic Games debut at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, which take place from 17th to 28th September. Britain will take a squad of more than 220 athletes backed by around 100 support staff to the Games. About 1000 athletes in 14 sports are vying for places in the squad.
