About the method

The ADELI Method is an intensive rehabilitative treatment for children and adults. It contains various therapies - the basis, main treatment - is apllication of the ADELI space suit. More precisely, it is an individually (for each patient) developed system of neurophysiological exercises, applied according to the details of his/her condition. Facilitating therapies enhance the effect on the central nervous system and ar applied in order to achieve maximum result within a short period of time (2-4 weeks).

Neurophysiology

The ADELI Method is a rehabilitative treatment for children and adults with cerebral palsy. The treatment method contains sets of individually developed complex neuro-physiological exercises in the ADELI Suit, applied according to the form, the stage and the specific features of the patient's condition.
The exercises conducted during the rehabilitation session ensure enhanced normalizing afferent pulsation flow from the joint-muscle apparatus to the brain and the central nervous system of the patient. The central brain structures, responsible for motor acts are activated through the powerful flow, and underdeveloped function systems are stimulated.
The application of the ADELI treatment allows for significant reduction of pathological reflexes and ensures accelerated development of new movement stereotypes, which are closest to normal physiological

Features of the method

ADELI Rehabilitation has obvious advantages in comparison with other methods:

Bases

The basis of application of the ADELI treatment is similar to that of the conventional therapies. It rests on the fact that brain development takes place under influence of multi-factoral afferentation. In case of postnatal brain development, the main role in development of motor systems is played by afferent impulsation from the muscle-joint apparatus: the influence through stato-kinetic apparatus has defining status. The development of motor systems happens in the very process of motor acts - the basis is the permanent control of the conducted movement. In case of a pathology, the process of brain development and the development of various main functional systems takes a wrong path.

The ADELI Rehabilitation Centre offers:

- 14-day
- 21-day
- 28-day
rehabilitation sessions, starting Mondays according to the session schedule. The arrival can take place on sunday - a day before treatment starts.

In case there are no barriers to admission of a certain patient (waiting list, counterindications, or other restrictions - more under application), your arrival is organsied automatically by your personal coordinator in the ADELI Center.

At arrival every patient undergoes a primary medical exmanitation, conducted by the chief neurologist of the insitution. According to the anamnesis, the current status, and the improvement potential of the patients, an individual treatment program is created. The ADELI Suit, which the patient keeps for the length of the stay is exactly adjusted to the personal motor disorders within the first day. The kinds of additional facilitating therapies, their number and length are decided on recpectively and the personal treatment plan for the next few weeks is developed.

At the end of your rehabilitation stay a closing medical examination takes place, in order to measure the achieved improvements in the condition of the patient, and to prepare a comprehensive medical report with conducted treatments and recommendations for further therapies at home.
