Ruggero Vilnai’s passion for sport and mechanical engineering is the inspirational force behind the disabled sports equipment which have characterised OFFCARR since its foundation in 1982. By taking the experience acquired from the sporting world and endearing to be as innovative as possible, OFFCARR quickly widened its product range, offering not just sports products but also a range of orthopaedic wheelchairs innovative for their materials, design and colours.

The close working relationship with top international athletes and the technical expertise of the company staff enable OFFCARR to continually and thoroughly research and develop its products to perfection. OFFCARR is proud of the fact that it is able to meet the needs of the ever more demanding client by providing high-tech, top quality and highly personalised products. In July 2002 the new premises were opened enabling the re-organization of the company so as to improve the various stages of production and provide a more comprehensive after-sales service.

OFFCARR takes part in the most important national and international trade fairs in the sector – a chance to show off OFFCARR’s products at the forefront in design, technological research and functionality, something which is always appreciated by the clients who visit the OFFCARR stand. For example, the VENUS model was on display at the Triennale in Milan and was chosen by ADI (Association for Industrial Design) in the category “Design for the Person”. The HALLEY model was a finalist in the competition “Design for All and Assistive Technology Awards” in the category “Mobility and Transportation” organized by the European Commission during the Rehacare International Trade Fair in Düsseldorf. For people with active lives, OFFCARR has created the models, EOS, DIVA, ALTHENA, QUASAR and widened the children’s product range. In addition, in response to demand in the top quality but reasonably priced lightweight wheelchairs, OFFCARR has developed the models ALTHEA.
