Benjamin Piwko – That's how he rolls

Whether in the meadow under the starry sky or alone in the desert – the actor and martial arts teacher Benjamin Piwko wants to feel and experience nature as close as possible. He wants to lead as a good example and give courage to other people. Why he likes Iron Man and what the beautiful soul is all about, he tells us at

When did you last laugh heartily and what about?

Benjamin Piwko: I love to laugh and I do this quite often. The last time I laughed wholeheartedly was because first I was startled that someone at dinner has burned his mouth while eating a hot crab. Then he laughed about himself so much that we both laughed heartily.

What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?

Benjamin Piwko: I'd like to spend the night in a sleeping bag in the meadow, falling asleep under the beautiful starry sky and waking up in the morning – with the feeling that I sense and breathe the pure nature.

I'd like to be dropped off the helicopter with a parachute jump over the lonely and vast desert. And there I would walk alone for three days – only with water and food in my backpack. And there I would spend the nights without anyone else – me all by myself. Although I’m afraid of spiders, snakes and scorpions.

Which person has influenced you most? And why?

Benjamin Piwko:
My mother was the most important reference person in my life. She was the only person who could understand me without speaking. We could communicate almost telepathically, without me being able to hear her.

You have the chance to become the Commissioner for the Disabled in your country. What would you do first?

Benjamin Piwko: Despite my disability, I've never lost the courage to set goals for myself and to achieve them. Therefore, I would try to motivate disabled people and present myself as a positive example.

Your life is made into a film: Who would represent you?

Benjamin Piwko: Keanu Reeves: A good-looking actor who is athletic, has humor, is charming and can still be hard.

I would like to be ...

Benjamin Piwko: I'd like to be Iron Man. He's a superhero who can fly, is invulnerable and who fights the evil.

Which questions would you like answered the most?

Benjamin Piwko: No human being is illegal. All animals are allowed to be legal. Why can't we humans also be free to fly anywhere and not be labeled as illegal?

What I finally want to say...

Benjamin Piwko: From birth, everyone should have the right to be happy. It would be nice, if there a beautiful soul would exist that would be always the equally beautiful – no matter how old someone is or whether one has a leg or not. The soul should never age and always stay equally beautiful.
