If it was up to Nicole Hotopp people with disabilities should have the opportunity to participate without help of others in public life much better than now. She wishes that accessible entrances or elevators for every building become a matter of course. Whether she would also like to go into politics because of this, she tells us on REHACARE.com.
Nicole Hotopp: I guess it was because of my son (1) and his little friend. They had a loud chat in baby language.
What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?
Nicole Hotopp: Flying away into the warm sun by the sea. It has not been the right time for it until now.
Which person has influenced you most?
Nicole Hotopp: My son! Why? Why child is not able to turn its parents' life gently upside down and to show them what life is really about?! When I was a child my sister influenced me the most. Without her I would not be who I am today.
You have the chance to become the German Federal Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?
Nicole Hotopp: Oh, I think that there is actually a lot which needs to be changed. But I have my doubts that I would be ready to cope with such a duty. I think that there are people who would be more appropriate for this.
