Sopur had a small racing wheelchair with him as a trade fair gag, which Baldé had to try out immediately and which he was able to handle intuitively and very quickly. After visiting the stand daily, he received the racing wheelchair as a gift from Marklein on his sixth birthday, a few months after the fair. The contact remained and in 1992 Sopur sponsored Baldé for the first time. This cooperation lasted for twelve years, training plans were developed and trained. Marklein himself was a Paralympic and accompanied Baldé on his way to top athletic performance.
