Care home group chooses Vapor Ricon to give their wheelchair users a lift

Giving wheelchair users the ability to travel with ease for both recreational and medical trips was a priority for Care Home provider HC-One. Here they explain why they chose Vapor Ricon to help them with their transport needs.

When HC-One decided to purchase 200 minibuses to enable Residents in each of their care homes across the UK to have their own dedicated transport, the search commenced to find a suitable wheelchair lift to fit the vehicles.

Around 80 percent of HC-One’s Residents are wheelchair users and it is imperative that they are able to access and alight the transport safely and with dignity.

"It was essential that we had lifts installed that were easy to operate and good servicing and maintenance options," commented Debbie Carling Procurement Liaison Officer at HC-One. "We soon discovered that Vapor Ricon could offer all that we required as well as coming highly recommended through research we undertook with a number of convertors."

200, S2036X Series commercial lifts were commissioned giving a myriad of user and operator benefits including up to 350 kg load capacity, non intrusive space-saving footprint, a stable non-skid platform protecting passenger and operators alike, industry leading Ricon lift technology and safety zone which includes hand rails and front and rear roll stops.

"All of these credentials gave us confidence that the product would be robust enough to withstand our frequent usage," commented Debbie. "Furthermore, they provided operator training through a training manual and video which allowed us to roll out the installation and usage speedily whilst ensuring the health and safety of colleagues and Residents was maintained."

The Vapor Ricon S Series Lift also comes with excellent maintenance credentials, including: pre-lubricated bearings at all major pivot points to ensure long term durability, a five year limited warranty; and should power failure be experienced, a manual back-up system is provided meaning appointments and plans do not have to be amended or compromised.

Debbie concluded; "Our aim is to provide the kindest care and a key part of that is making sure we have the right equipment to suit Residents’ needs. Vapor Ricon have kept that aim in mind every step of the way. Their dedication and commitment to customer service is fantastic and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others or work with them in the future."

HC-One has over 200 care homes situated across the UK reaching from the North of Scotland to the South Coast of England.

Vapor Ricon is part of the Wabtec group of companies and has been established in the UK for over thirty years and provides accessibility solutions and mobility products.
