What makes you laugh?

Carolin Wegner: When my cats play, and funny topics with my friends.

What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?

Carolin Wegner: I always wanted to go to Sweden and America, but financially it was not yet possible and also healthwise it is quite difficult at the moment.

Which person has influenced you most? And why?

Carolin Wegner: Positive: my friends and family, by always supporting me.
Negative: people who try to belittle me because of my disability or try to convince me that I often react badly, although it was at the time because of a new medication adjustment and I was therefore only dealing with the side effects and was therefore naturally more irritable and did not always make the right decision.  

You have the chance to become the Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?

Carolin Wegner: To let many people with disabilities process their applications more quickly and above all to give them a correct assessment so that many do not have to contradict permanently and fight extremely hard to get the right degree of disability at some point. And above all to make things easier for the job, parking etc.

What is especially near and dear to you?

Carolin Wegner: I wish that even more people would be more responsive to people with disabilities and that extreme prejudices would not still prevail, especially when it comes to old age. And it should be more accessible everywhere, because unfortunately this is often not the case.

Which question would you like to be answered the most?

Carolin Wegner: Why is it still so difficult for patients with rare and undiagnosed diseases to be accepted by physicians?

Carolin Wegner: I think it's great that people with illnesses of all kinds are listened to more and more and thus more platform is given.
