Christian Heintz has already stood on the sports field with Dirk Nowitzki and Leon Draisaitl. Both athletes are a well known in the USA. In addition to basketball and ice hockey, the amputee soccer player is also attracted by American football. Why the Super Bowl would be the icing on the cake and which motto is particularly close to his heart, he tells us at REHACARE.com.
Name: Christian Heintz Age: 35 City: Dielheim, Germany Occupation: Project manager of the model project "Amputee soccer in the club" at Anpfiff ins Leben (English: kickoff into life) Impairment: amputation right leg
Christian Heintz: Sarcasm and people who are able to laugh about themselves. Because life is serious enough.
What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?
Christian Heintz: Bungee Jumping from a bridge with the head dipping into the water. But so far I haven't received any reliable statements as to whether my healthy leg would withstand it.
Which person has influenced you most? And why?
Christian Heintz: Here I would like to name four people: my girlfriend, my sister and my parents. They have all shown me how strong family forces can be and that one can also gain positive things from supposedly difficult life situations.
You have the chance to become the Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?
Christian Heintz: I would work for the promotion of disabled sports at the grassroots level. At the top, good results have already been achieved in recent years. But the promotion and support of non-Paralympic sports is still absolutely expandable in Germany.
At the Champions for Charity event, the charity football game in honor of Michael Schumacher, Christian Heintz was already given the opportunity to kick alongside basketball legend Dirk Nowitzki.
What is especially near and dear to you?
Christian Heintz: Cologne's motto which says: "levve un levve losse." (English: To live and let live). Because we need more tolerance and acceptance in our society.
I would like to be...
Christian Heintz: ...with a good friend live at the Super Bowl. We've already managed to see an NFL game in San Francisco, but the Super Bowl is still missing as an absolute highlight.
Which question would you like answered the most?
Christian Heintz: When will the 1. FC Köln become German Soccer Champion again?
What else I wanted to say...
Christian Heintz: "Life means change." Be flexible in your head and don't stick to this one solution. Because it usually comes differently than you think.
