Christian Kenk and Bernd Mann are best friends for 25 years now. Their deep friendship has often been smiled at or caused disapproval. But it never changed a thing between their relationship and so they came up with a book called: "Schwer behindert, leicht bekloppt" (Heavily disabled, slightly loco). What else is important to Christian Kenk besides friendship, he tells us at REHACARE.com.
Christian Kenk: A couple of days ago about some funny statements of my family members.
What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far? Christian Kenk: Jumping of the ten-meter-block in the pool. Unfortunately I am afraid of height and I cannot swim either.
Which person has influenced you most? And why?
Christian Kenk: My best friend Bernd because I trust and respect him and he showed me what is possible.
You have the chance to become the Commissioner for the Disabled in your country. What would you do first?
Christian Kenk: I would reintroduce the civilian service or some kind of a obligate year for everyone, so every young person comes in touch with social themes. I would like people with disabilities to have the opportunity to be part of an au-pair-program.
Your life is made into a film: Who would represent you?
Christian Kenk: Me or Daniel Day Lewis because he can play everything. I would like to be ...
Christian Kenk: Invisibile. It would be easier for my hobby birdwatching because I could get closer to the birds without driving them off.
Which questions would you like answered the most?
Christian Kenk: Why do people with disabilities suffer more difficulties than they already experiance because of their disability?
What I finally want to say?
Christian Kenk: Look closely instead of looking away
