Sometimes lecturers have a greater influence on students than they may be aware of. Claudia Böhme came up with the idea of bringing together blind and visually impaired people and museums, thanks to a suggestion of the student vocational guidance service. Today, the 46-year-old is a cultural mediator. What else she is interested in besides accessibility in museums, she tells us at REHACARE.com.

When did you last laugh heartily and what about?

Claudia Böhme: That wasn't long ago. I don't remember the exact time. It was related to the work on a film description.

What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?

Claudia Böhme: There's nothing there. Sooner or later, I'll do what I want to do.

Which person has influenced you most? And why?

Claudia Böhme: Maybe a lecturer at the university. At a time when there was no mention of inclusion, she advised me to work for museums, preferably for people with visual impairments, because there was nothing there. With that advice she put me on the right track.

You have the chance to become the Commissioner for the Disabled in your country. What would you do first?

Claudia Böhme: I have never thought about that.

Your life is made into a film: Who would represent you?

Claudia Böhme: I do not have an answer to that.
