Dennis Winkens would like to win the lottery and to go skydiving – but unfortunately, neither the numbers nor the weather played along yet. But much more important to him are advancements concerning accessibility and inclusion, best by removing all tax limits. Which question he is asking himself and what he would like to be, he tells us on REHACARE.com.
Dennis Winkens: Not long ago when I was watching the final cut of my video I shot at this year’s Gamescom with the "Aktion Mensch". Especially the specific end of the video shows and reminds me of how much fun we had on that day. Even thinking of it now makes me smile again.
What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?
Dennis Winkens: To win the lottery and to go skydiving. Actually I dare (to do) both, but for one someone always picks the wrong numbers and for the other one there was no time during good weather yet (sounds like an excuse, but it is not).
Which person has influenced you most?
Dennis Winkens: There is not just one person who has influenced me. Everyone contributes something to the way you develop. Of course family and friends play a decisive role in your life, but every encounter contributes a part to how life and the person develops.
You have the chance to become the German Federal Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?
Dennis Winkens: As the German Federal Commissioner for the Disabled I would take a hand in financial politics first. Then I would try to remove all tax limits. I will explain to you why: 1st There are only fair taxes for ALL, if there are no limits. From this follows 2nd, thanks to that, tax revenue will increase enormously and more opportunities will be there to support accessibility inclusion and many more important things. Your life is made into a film:Who would represent you?
Dennis Winkens: A movie about me? Then I would be the best choice to play a role in it. Who can represenet a person better than the person himself? I would like to be ...
Dennis Winkens: a movie actor and comedian.
Which questions would you like answered the most?
Dennis Winkens: Who actually got the idea that we are wheelchair bound?
What I finally want to say... Dennis Winkens: Thanks for the interview and being interested in reading it. :) And do not forget: Barriers start in our heads and do not grow on the street!
