An accident at work changed Mario Harig's life and made him a pensioner at the age of 34. But for the trained scaffolder that was no reason to be bitter. Quite the opposite. Why he likes life and who his role model is, he tells us at REHACARE.com.
Name: Mario Harig Age: 48 City: Müncheberg, Germany Occupation: Pensioner Impairment: paraplegic since an accident at work (th11)
What makes you laugh?
Mario Harig: My family and my friends.
What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?
Mario Harig: I always wanted to skydive. But my self-determined mobility on earth is more important to me. I would rather be on the road with my trike than hanging in the air.
Which person has influenced you most? And why?
Mario Harig: My father is my role model in many ways and has influenced me a lot.
You have the chance to become the Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?
Mario Harig: To solve the parking problems. :-) Furthermore, it must be possible for all public buildings to be accessible.
Self-determined mobility is very important to Mario Harig. Thanks to BG Bau, the former scaffolder has not only converted a car, but also completed a driving safety training course. If not on four wheels, Harig also likes to ride his trike.
What is especially near and dear to you?
Mario Harig: My kids.
I would like to be...
Mario Harig: ... a kid again.
Which question would you like answered the most?
Mario Harig: Why do not more people see the beauty in life and nature?
