When did you last laugh heartily and what about?

Marlies Hübner: I don’t know yet, but as long as they’re is a moment of joy every day everything is good.

What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?

Marlies Hübner: I know, for most people it’s an awfully plain wish, but I would like to swim and dive in the open sea. I’m not a good swimmer, so controling all four extremities is hard work. So far I have been too scared to drown.

Which person has influenced you most? And why?

Marlies Hübner: There are numerous people, that - at least for a certain time - had an influence on me. At the moment it is a good friend of mine. With her endlessy urge to question everything, she is pretty inspiring.

You have the chance to become the Commissioner for the Disabled in your country. What would you do first?

Marlies Hübner: I would agitate for an complete implementation of the UN-convention on the rights of persons with disabilities, fit shelters for battered women with the necessary means for accessibility and initiate to tighten the law enforcement. Further on I would prohibit abusive therapies like ABA and IntraAct Plus.

Your life is made into a film: Who would represent you?

Marlies Hübner: That’s up to the directing person. I would give him/her the creative space which is needed.

Marlies Hübner: Why is it that people with disabilities are forced to the edge of society?
