Long and often planned, rethought and rescheduled: Planning an exhibition hall with numerous sports offers was not easy this year. But the BRSNW, together with partners, sponsors, helpers and a motivated team, managed it.
A new concept allows a colorful, diverse offer and more space in the hall 7a. The large stage will be replaced by two video stages, thus equalizing the hall events – this year, the focus will be on participatory offers from all exhibitors. Thanks to a live image transmission and top-class presenters, these activities can be broadcast throughout the hall this year. In addition to the classic sports of athletics, table tennis, tennis, badminton or archery, the new concept also offers sports that are celebrating their premiere at REHACARE, such as sport shooting and snow sports.
The highlight for all ski fans is the mobile ski slope in exhibition hall 7a. Together, the snow sports departments of the German Disabled Sports Association and the BRSNW will help visitors to enjoy a fast downhill run on mono-, bi- or normal skis. In combination with a laser shooting range, first biathlon experiences can be gained. The large eSports area will be innovative with PowerPlay events, where both various consoles and game titles can be tried out. Thanks to the support of Human Electronics, we will also be able to present individual controller solutions for the first time, which can be adapted to a wide range of disabilities. Virtual worlds of experience and a whole lot of gaming fun are also promised by the Swiss entrepreneur "Sphery" which has already caused queues at the Sports Center in 2019. The Motion Composer, on the other hand, is new to the Sports Center: A computer converts every tiny movement into music, creating melodies, dance and quite a bit of community in motion.
With APT Prothesen, visitors can test experiential prosthetics and listen to exciting "prosthetic talks". In the Soccer-Ei, it's all about soccer again. Fortuna Düsseldorf will be offering trial training in blind soccer, walking soccer will be presented and everyone can test their skills and feel for the ball at the LED wall shooting. Spectacular rallies are expected at para-badminton, presented by Yonex. Top sports of a special kind can be experienced on Friday, when Valentin Baus – Paralympics winner from Tokyo – and table tennis champion Timo Boll meet at the table, supported by Butterfly. Also "golfing from the wheelchair" with PowerBaseTec and an airy height experience with wheelchair by the ERCA rope hoist are possible in the sports center. Exercise, games and sports are promised by the large outdoor area with the BRSNW-Aktivdabei Mobil, a bowling alley, petanque, bowling with the bowling alley and lots of small games. In addition, fun modules such as XXL darts, hot wire and other surprises will attract visitors.
As moderator for the BRSNW Sportcenter Sebastian Hempfling could be won again, who moderates the first two days of the fair. He is replaced on Friday and Saturday by Matthias Berg, commentator from the Paralympics transmission of the ZDF. "With our partners of the sport center we succeeded in creating attractive possibilities on the fair Duesseldorf again, in order to make movement, play and fun experiencable in different forms", says the BRSNW chairman Reinhard Schneider shortly before the opening of the trade fair on 14 September. "In particular, our thanks go to Messe Düsseldorf and the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs NRW, whose active support makes it possible for people with disabilities to experience the diversity of sports at REHACARE."
