Consul General Hails British Innovation at REHACARE

The British Consul-General in Dusseldorf has praised the creativity and innovation of UK companies at REHACARE 2012.

17 UK companies are exhibiting on the UK Pavilion and showcasing their innovative products at this year's REHACARE - the world's biggest exhibition for assistive and rehabilitative technology. The companies are exhibiting their pioneering technologies on the UK Pavilion run by Medilink UK with the support of UK Trade & Investment, as part of a wider UK presence of 45 companies.

The exhibition, which takes place from 10-13 October at Messe Düsseldorf, is the most important trade fair in the world for rehabilitation, prevention, integration and care, attracting over 50,000 visitors.

On day two of the exhibition, Malcolm Scott, the British Consul General in Dusseldorf, met with companies on the UK Pavilion as well as other UK companies exhibiting independently to hear about their experiences at the exhibition and discuss the wider export market.

Mr Scott said: "This year´s REHACARE has already been very successful for UK companies, with a number of business opportunities emerging and very positive feedback about the future of this growing market.

"It was fantastic to witness first-hand the exceptional level of innovation that remains at the heart of British industry. The companies exhibiting here are hugely inventive and show great creativity, but still retain a real commitment and belief in what their products are trying to achieve - and ultimately that is about helping people lead fulfilled lives with the support of assistive technologies."
