The NXT Generation Next is Freedom Designs latest innovation in Tilt-in-Space wheelchairs for both kids and adults. The NXT is unique in that it is very lightweight, very compact and very easy to use. What makes the NXT unique is that it is designed for the user and for the care giver.

For the care giver it comes with a combination hand tilt, brake and wheel lock lever system so that the tilt, speed, direction and stopping capabilities can be controlled by the person pushing the wheelchair.

For the user, the NXT adjusts in width and depth to offer long term use capabilities for growing kids and changing adults. It comes in a wide variety of colors including 4 NEW colors. And, NEW for both the Folding and Rigid frame models for 2012 is the LEAF (lower extremity accommodation frame)and MAPS (multi-axis positioning system)footrest.

LEAF is a seat frame that can be adjusted at or about the footrest hanger, 22 degrees from midline to help accommodate challenging lower extremity positioning needs like abduction, adduction and windswept leg positions. MAPS is a footrest system that can be adjusted to help accommodate foot/ankle positioning challenges like inversion, eversion, plantar flexion, dorsiflexion and rotation.

Together these options help clinicians address some of the most difficult and complex positioning challenges.
