iPortal Accessibility is Dynamic Control's latest solution to help enhance the quality of life of people living with a disability; allowing people with limited or no hand control to easily make phone calls, surf the internet, plan routes, and have full access to the online world.
The latest generation of the product will be showcased at this year’s Rehacare, the largest assistive technologies fair in the world.
iPortal Accessibility can be fully integrated or retrofitted with the company’s DX and DX2 control systems to give people living with a disability the freedom to do things that others take for granted, from checking Facebook to finding directions.
Even making a phone call can be a difficult task, but controlling an iPhone through a Dynamic Controls DX system opens a world of opportunities for wheelchair users.
One way that high need users can operate their wheelchair and the iPortal is with the DSL105 contactless head controls, which create a comfortable, superior input solution as no physical force is required to operate the switches.
Jonty, who lives with a high level spinal injury and uses iPortal Accessibility with a DSL105 head control, describes the technology as a game changer.
“The iPortal is revolutionary for my life, I now have full control over one of the world's leading technological devices and the ability to keep on expanding this device into so many other areas.”
Charlotte Walshe, CEO of Dynamic Controls, added: “We have combined the latest technology with our tried and tested wheelchair control units. iPortal provides wheelchair users with a wealth of information about their wheelchair and the world.”
“The customer is always at the heart of all our innovations and our aim is to enable users to lead a full and active part in society, so we are looking forward to showcasing our ground-breaking innovations at Rehacare 2011 and speaking to potential business partners around the world.”
In addition to the iPortal and DX2 system, Dynamic Control will also be showcasing the Rhino2, their most powerful and advanced scooter controller yet, which boasts a compact and rugged design and integrated actuator variants.
The Rehacare exhbition will take place from 21-24 September in Dusseldorf, Germany.
