Helping dogs

They pick up items, warn about dangerous situations or safely guide a person through traffic – assistance dogs for persons with various disabilities have many different duties and responsibilities.

Dogs are man’s best friend. VITA assistance dogs are even more than that: they are partners for (canine) life. Whether it’s emptying the washing machine or helping with social contacts – they assist wherever they can. And they do so unconditionally. Not all disabilities are visible. Especially psychological disabilities are often being suppressed or not viewed as such. It is still widely unknown that an assistance dog can help with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or other psychological disabilities for example.
