From 17 to 20 September 2025 the international trade fair for rehabilitation and care, REHACARE 2025, will open its doors in Düsseldorf under the guiding theme “Self-Determined Living” – thereby sending a strong signal: Inclusion through Innovation. As the world’s only trade fair that unites the complete self-determined living community – from people affected and dependents to solutions providers, associations and start-ups to decision-makers from political, scientific and business spheres – REHACARE takes on an indispensable social function.
Unique when it comes to diversity, social relevance and forward- looking solutions
REHACARE is so much more than just a trade fair. It is a resonance chamber for affected persons, a stage for innovations and a catalyst for social change. Its stated aim is to raise greater awareness for self-determined living – and break down both physical and mental barriers.
In 2025 REHACARE will provide an impressive demonstration of how technological, digital and social innovations already contribute to inclusion today – and which are needed to design the inclusive society of tomorrow. Centrestage is the key question: “What innovations does an inclusive society need – and which already exist today?”
Answers to this will be provided by start-ups, long-established companies from Germany and abroad as well as civil-society initiatives flagging up new pathways towards participation – such as by digital assistance systems, smart mobility solutions, smart care aids or inclusive sports as offered in cooperation with the “Behinderten- und Rehabilitationssportverband” (Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association - BRSNW). Here, not only the “what, but also the “who” and “how” count: REHACARE sees itself as a platform for diversity of perspectives and a future lab for inclusion.
“Jointly with our proven partners including the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, German Statutory Accident Insurance (“Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung - DGUV), the Federal Working Group of Self-Help Organisations for People with Disabilities, Chronic Diseases and their Relatives (“Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Selbsthilfe” - BAG SELBSTHILFE e.V.) and the children’s rehabilitation network rehaKIND, to name but a few, as well as numerous international exhibitors we consistently continue our commitment to an inclusive society,” explains Hannes Niemann, Director REHACARE.
Innovative forums: exchange on a level playing field
In 2025 special focus will be on the successful expert forums that promote knowledge transfer, dialogue and participation through powerful formats thereby further strengthening REHACARE as a marketplace of ideas and future lab.
- Product and News Forum: companies will present their latest developments – accompanied by expert lectures and panel discussions.
- Community Forum: personal stories will be centrestage – stories of people who have overcome challenges with innovative and inclusive solutions. These include EDM artist Luca Veda, activist and inclusion influencer Ayleen Caterine, paralympic athlete and speaker Moritz Brückner as well as influencer and activist Sabrina Lorenz.
- Meeting point REHACARE Forum: shaping the future in specialist medical retail: In cooperation with trade journal Gesundheitsprofi REHACARE will also present a future-oriented programme that selectively targets specialist medical and orthopaedic retailers. Practical insights in new lines of business, digital marketing strategies and innovative care.
