WHILL launches the Model C, a new personal electric vehicle featuring cloud connectivity based on a 3G cellular module. A new page for users with mobility demands has been revealed.
"Our mission is bringing fun and innovation to pedestrian travel," said Sugie Satoshi, CEO of WHILL. "To achieve these missions, WHILL takes a user-centric approach to craft personal electric vehicles that empowers individuals with disabilities to enjoy a newfound freedom. Our customers are able to enjoy the outdoors in ways that were previously inaccessible using standard power wheelchairs, and with Model C, we're giving them even more freedom to explore the world."
At REHACARE 2017, WHILL will present the brand new product, Model C, which can be separated into three parts without using a tool and carried in a small car’s trunk for easy transportation/travelling. Its rechargeable Lithium battery can be detached. Model C also features patented Omni-wheel to tackle tough terrain with 2-wheel drive function. In addition, the built-in 3G communication function can check the status of the vehicle remotely including mileage, remaining battery power, battery deterioration condition, errors that occurred, information on needed repair...
WHILL has not only created a unique personal electric vehicle for disabled users, but also multi-faceted software that can evolve as the autonomous driving industry becomes more integrated with smart cities and the connected home. The company is exploring plans to release a new product lineup in the future, including a mobile app that will wirelessly sync with all personal EV products to help prevent accidents and ensure safer navigation.
With these types of automatic features fully enabled, WHILL’s line of personal EV products will truly become smart driving assistants for both disabled and non-disabled users.
