When did you last laugh heartily and what about?

Nicole Franke: I laugh a lot and I like it! Most of the time I laugh with my best friend when we say out loud what the other one is thinking. :-) Concerts are also a guaranty for good mood.

What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?

Nicole Franke: My biggest wish is to travel to New York and Miami one day. Until now it was not possible because of an accompanying person, care and finance.

Which person has influenced you most?

Nicole Franke: Hmm, good question. I cannot only name one person. So I say: my family and my closest friends. They mean everything to me and I really appreciate their advice. Of course I make decision on my own, but I also ask them what they think.

You have the chance to become the German Federal Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?

Nicole Franke: First of all I would look for other competent and affected people to join me. Then our to do list would look like this: accessibility in public transport has to be improved, there has to be a deadline for repairing public elevators (They are often out of order for months!), and curbs should be lowered.

Your life is made into a film: Who would represent you?

Nicole Franke: Oh, that's a tough question. I could picture Jennifer Aniston best for this. She is natural, humorous, has already play several characters and is always very convincing, I think.

Nicole Franke: Why can some people not just be happy with the good life they have?

What I finally want to say...

Nicole Franke: Many people only see my wheelchair when they first meet me and then have fears of contact and feel sorry for me. Please stop being like this! I enjoy every minute of my life and I'm happy the way it is. My disability turned me into the person I am today and I am proud of it.
