Animal support

Dear Sir or Madam,

Their names are Felix or 13. They have bristles or soft fur. There is talk of the pig Felix which works with physiotherapist Daan Vermeulen to mobilize people with dementia. And 13 is the name of a pony mare who visits guests in a German hospice once a week and puts a smile on their face. Are you curious now? You can read more about them in our Topic of the Month February: Animal helpers.

Enjoy reading!

Whether fur, feathers or bristles, whether only on a visit or as an assistant in a therapeutical setting – animals often have a positive effect on people, no matter whether with or without a disability. This impact can be used with purpose, for example to mobilize people with dementia again. What kind of role a pig can play in this context and what a pony has to do in a hospice, you will get to know in the current Topic of the Month February: Animal helpers.
