Review to REHACARE 2016

Dear Sir or Madam,

Almost 50,000 visitors came to Düsseldorf last week where they had the chance to get informed about the topic self-determined living again. 916 exhibitors from 36 countries presented their latest products and services.

REHACARE.com was also on site with a camera and had a look at individual auxiliary means for children. But also topics like mobility and sports were covered: accessible camping vans were as in focus as honoring successful German Paralympic athletes.

Have a look back with us at four days REHACARE.

We are happy to see you again next year!

REHACARE Congress: "Building the quarter is a process"

Interview with Franz Müntefering

How do we want to live in our city quarter in the future? Developing inclusive quarters becomes more and more important, because senior citizens want to remain independent as long as possible. This also means: They want to decide for themselves where they live. This is why quarters have to fulfill the needs that everyone has on the one hand, as well as the special needs that we have individually.

How we roll

Photo: Stefanie Batzer; Copyright: private
Stefanie Batzer can sometimes attract attention so that streetlights have to suffer from it. Looking at all the injustices in the world, she would like our society to become open-minded towards all people finally. How she would like to change the world of work and what she lacks the courage for, she tells us at REHACARE.com.

Living a self-determined life in an inclusive society is an established human right, according to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN-CRPD). With the ratification of the UN-CRPD the countries commit themselves to adjust their political legislation to the fundamental principles of the UN convention. But what does it really look like?
