With Simple Language to a finished application

Dear Sir or Madam,

Cover letters, curriculum vitae, certificates – the structure of an application is clear for many. But people with learning difficulties may need help in designing their application documents. And in the best case this should be done in Simple Language. This is exactly where the project "Leicht. Bewerben" comes in. How exactly do people with learning difficulties get support on the online platform? Well, we asked.

Have a successful week,

Writing an informative job application can be hard but it’s crucial if you want to find a job. Especially young people with learning disabilities often struggle with this feat. That’s why the KulturLife non-profit organization has launched the "Leicht. Bewerben" project (English: Applying. Made Simple). Along with her colleague Helen van Ravenstein, Chiara Dickmann is committed to making it easier for young people to access the labor market - in so-called Leichter Sprache (English: Simple Language).

Choosing a career is a deeply personal and intimate decision. Yet this path is also shaped by many external factors. If you are a person in a wheelchair of if you are deaf, accessing the primary labor market might not be an easy feat. But it’s definitely possible. David Völzmann and Felizitas Böcher show us how they did it.
