What makes you laugh?

Rosalie Renner: Ironic jokes and especially self-irony.

I love it when you can make fun of yourself and your counterpart without making anyone feel insulted or sulking. If you don't take yourself so seriously, I think you are much more relaxed and happy. And as soon as you make ironic jokes about someone else and they respond positively (i.e. fire back), you're at eye level with them. So you notice that you are understood and liked. These are very beautiful and important moments in interpersonal relationships.

What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?

Rosalie Renner: I've always wanted to write a book. Last year, I did. It's called "Mein Weg" (English: My Way). And maybe someday there'll be more...

I can't think of anything else. If I really want something, I never let my fears stop me anyway.

Which person has influenced you most? And why?

Rosalie Renner: Most of all, my parents have certainly had the most impact on me. From them I learned to enjoy life, to question statements, to stand up for myself with my typical stubborness and not to give up even in case of difficulties.

My parish in the village has shaped me at least as much. All these people mean home to me. Here I learned that we can accomplish a lot together because of our different talents and that you can be very good friends despite completely different opinions. And of course they have brought me closer to the faith in God, which plays a big role in my life.

You have the chance to become the Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?

Rosalie Renner: Does it also count as an official act to have a serious word with Mr. Spahn? For example about RISG/IPReG (I'm already old enough and can decide for myself where and how I live.) and the Nursing Profession Reform Act (What happens if you press three training courses in three years? You have to cut back. Who will feel the impact? People like me.).

Ok, after I've gotten myself sufficiently excited, I would probably first fix the salary of nursing staff, so that this competition among the nursing services doesn't get too fierce and really every nurse gets a fair wage. It would be best to have an umbrella organization over all nursing services, so that they at least work together a little bit and don't poach each other's people. 

Rosalie Renner: A respectful, friendly, considerate cooperation of ALL people.

I would like to be...

Rosalie Renner: ... employed as a normal employee with equal rights somewhere where I enjoy my work and am trusted to do it. It would be nice if this dream came true sometime after my studies.

Which question would you like answered the most?

Rosalie Renner: What does the government intend to do about the nursing crisis? When will it finally listen to the affected and caring people?

What else I wanted to say...

Rosalie Renner: I always find it a pity that inclusion in school is either a very quick step back or a radical change of everything. In my opinion the current school system is not so bad. The only thing that needs to be changed is this strict social demarcation. Why can't we spend our breaks together, do interdisciplinary projects or only certain lessons together and perhaps plan a week's exchange of pupils between grammar school, special school and/or secondary school from time to time? In addition, the bureaucracy would have to be loosened up so that everyone who wants to and is able to do so can obtain a good degree.
