Our society must finally live inclusion instead of just talking about it. Sima Surkamp demands this for the labour market as well as for the economy and politics. Who or what is also near and dear to her and which accessible vehicle she would like to own, she tells at REHACARE.com.
What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?
Sima Surkamp: Difficult question, I haven't thought about it yet, if there is something special I haven't dared to do yet.
Which person has influenced you most? And why?
Sima Surkamp: Many people have influenced me a lot up to now. Through them I am who I am today - in the negative and in the positive sense.
You have the chance to become the Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?
Sima Surkamp: To bring the rights of disabled people even more into the focus of politics and that these are also implemented. Inclusion is no longer just an issue, but a way of living it - in the entire population, the economy and industry.
Sima Surkamp uses personal assistance to lead a self-determined life. On September 28, she will also participate in a panel discussion on this topic at this year's REHACARE in the REHACARE Forum.
What is especially near and dear to you?
Sima Surkamp: My child, my dog and that the people around me are doing well.
What makes other people actually happy in life? If you ever wondered, you have come to the right place. In regular intervals REHACARE.com asks a varity of people always the same questions. What results from that? Read for yourself!
