Being braver and free from doubts – if this was Theresa Steinkellner, she would simply grab her backpack and go hiking. For her, being free is just as important as appreciating people and showing them respect and empathy – for example in her job as a personal assistant. Why tomato juice is a mystery for her, she tells us at REHACARE.com.
Name: Theresa Steinkellner Age: 32 City: Vienna, Austria Occupation: Personal assistant, travel blogger Impairment: Occupational: My current work as a personal assistant for wheelchair users.
Theresa Steinkellner: When I was on the way with the Austrian electric wheelchair soccer team in England and we were sitting together in the evening. What about? Unintended language misunderstandings.
What have you always been wanting to do and why have you never done this so far?
Theresa Steinkellner: To leave everything spontaneously behind, packing my backpack without any plans and to go hiking for a longer time. The fear of the unknown and common sense have probably stopped me from doing it until now.
Which person has influenced you most?
Theresa Steinkellner: My parents have influenced me most for sure. But there are also short, concrete encounters with people and experiences with friends that changed my thinking and acting deeply. Why? I think because I thought about it.
You have the chance to become the German Federal Commissioner for the Disabled. What would you do first?
Theresa Steinkellner: To inaugurate an obligatory wheelchair training for walking people in order to make them understand what accessibly means and what it doesn’t mean. In my opinion, there is a big consciousness deficit.
Your life is made into a film: Who would represent you?

Theresa Steinkellner: … even more brave and without any doubts and fears.
Which questions would you like answered the most?
Theresa Steinkellner: Why is the world so unfair? Why is life so complicated? Why is togetherness often so difficult? And why do so many people drink tomato juice in an airplane and why do they have it there at all?
What I finally want to say...
Theresa Steinkellner: If you believe in it and it makes you happy, never stop fighting for it.
