The new LEPUS E from HASE BIKES is ideal for people whose leg-strength issues make it difficult to ride a bike or trike. It features a start-assist function that gets the wheels rolling without pedaling and accelerates the trike to 6 km/h (4 mph).
Much more than a trike for rehabilitation: the LEPUS E from HASE BIKES with motor and start-assist function.
The LEPUS has always been something special. With a raised seat that is adjustable to heights of 57 to 63 cm (22-25 inches), it not only offers a good overview of traffic but also makes it easy to mount: Riders just have to lower themselves into the seat from the side and then effortlessly lift one leg over the low frame. This also works well for people with impaired balance and older riders.
Cyclists with limited leg strength often find it difficult to start moving from a stop. However, this issue is easy to solve. With the Bafang M500 motor, the LEPUS E ensures that every rider can effortlessly get their wheels turning. It accelerates the trike from a standstill to up to 6 km/h (4 mph): no pedal power required. Once the trike is in motion, it's much easier to pedal, either with or without additional assistance from the motor. And the practical start-assist function is easy to activate using a thumb throttle.
The sleek design of the LEPUS – two wheels in the back and one in front – also makes the trike extremely stable, because its center of gravity is much lower than that of a normal upright trike. This is particularly beneficial for cyclists with balance issues. And the extra stability also allows for smooth cornering, meaning that the rider doesn't have to slow way down before every curve.
The LEPUS E also comes standard with independent wheel suspension and air shocks. Its cornering-stability control system, similar to that of a car, ensures a smooth and comfortable ride, even over cobblestones or other uneven surfaces. And when the trike isn't in use, it can be parked upright to save space. It’s even possible to transport the trike in a small car: Three easy steps are all it takes to convert the LEPUS E to a compact package 124 cm (49 inches) in length: no tools required.
