The iBOT is more than a regular electric wheelchair because it offers more options. What modes does the iBOT have and what do they make possible for the user?
Majella van Geurp: The iBOT is a multifunctional personal mobility device with six different modes. The iBOT is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. In standard mode, the iBOT rides very comfortably like a rear-wheel drive wheelchair. With the tilt function, you easily adjust your sitting position to what is comfortable for you at that moment.
In 4-wheel mode, the iBOT drives with ease over different types of surfaces and through rough terrain. Going out? A walk in the woods or on the beach? Not a problem at all. Whether through grass, over sand or stones, or through snow; the iBOT will take you anywhere! It even overcomes obstacles up to 13 centimeters in height, like curbs and sidewalks.
With the iBOT's balance mode you can level up to match with your standing or walking companions. The technology allows you to rise up on 2 wheels; allowing you to get up to eye level and interact easily with the standing people around you.
With the iBOT's stair climbing mode, accessibility is no longer an issue. With its unique technology, the iBOT makes stair climbing possible. Independently or with a trained assistant, you get up and down the stairs.
You can also use the iBOT on the go. The EZ Lock Docking system for occupied transport allows you to safely get behind the wheel of your own car. Easy fixation of the wheelchair inside your car is possible and of course tested and certified.
Finally, the iBOT has a remote mode. This enables you to use the controller to easily move the iBOT (unoccupied) – for example in and out of a car, train or plane.
