Inclusive by Design: Zalando links adaptive fashion and accessibility

Zalando is strengthening its approach to diversity and inclusion with its updated strategy "Inclusive by Design". A key element is the role of the platform itself: the company sees its offering as a way to embed inclusion more deeply across customer experiences and partner relationships.

This also includes further development in adaptive fashion. Zalando states that it has established itself as a market leader in this segment and plans to expand its offering in the coming years.

Beyond product assortment, Zalando is placing stronger emphasis on digital usability. According to the company, customer experiences are to be "smoother and accessible by design", both on web and app.

This highlights that inclusion is not only addressed through products, but also through how digital services are accessed and used. The platform is intended to support different user needs, regardless of how people interact with content. This reflects a broader shift in e-commerce, where accessibility is increasingly considered part of overall user experience and platform strategy.

The updated D&I strategy is built on two pillars: "People" and "Platform & industry".

• Platform & industry addresses customer experience, partnerships and the platform’s role within the wider market.

Zalando aims to embed inclusion both internally and across its broader ecosystem.

Therefore we make it our conviction to be inclusive by design – making sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable being at, connecting with or using Zalando."
