Participate, join in, experience - Highlights of REHACARE 2023

In a few days it's that time again, the "REHACARE – Selfdetermined living" starts on 13.09.2023. But instead of just passively strolling through the aisles and looking at products at the various stands, the fair offers its visitors much more! We have already rummaged a little in advance, what there will be to see and experience during the trade fair days!

Those who have already visited REHACARE know it of course: the REHACARE Sports Center in Hall 7a. Here you can discover and test different kinds of sports. Maybe you already got to know some of them in the past and now you feel like getting started again? Then go ahead! This year, there will once again be a large number of participatory activities coordinated by the BRSNW (German: Behinderten- und Rehabilitationssportverband Nordrhein-Westfalen e.V.). Whether table tennis, soccer or para ski - here you can participate or join in.

During REHACARE, the CYBATHLON competition of ETH Zurich will once again be on display in Hall 4.

Here, assistive technologies suitable for everyday use will be presented and subjected to a competition. Only one can win! Whether with thoughts, prostheses or wheelchairs – the individual challenges help to make new technologies better known. Anyone who would like to discuss with the developers is also cordially invited to do so.

If you haven't tried it out for yourself yet, you should do so soon. We're talking about eSports, or "electronic sports". Similar to traditional sports, individual or team players can compete against each other. Even soccer clubs like Paris Saint Germain, FC Barcelona, Manchester City or Bayern Munich have founded eSports teams and play in the various leagues. The players are also professionally coached, because they have to stay fit and healthy in order to cope well with the sometimes long days of playing on the game console. But it's not just soccer that can be played in eSports. Strategy games and other sports and fighting games are also popular. Anyone who wants to take a look at the world of eGaming can do so at REHACARE. In addition to the hands-on activities on site, the BRSNW in cooperation with PowerPlayEvents and HumanElektronik and the Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf also offers an inclusive "Rocket League"-Tournament".(Link in german only)

The two qualifying tournaments took place on August 27 and 30, 2023. The two best players of each qualifying tournament will then compete live in the grand final at REHACARE in Düsseldorf. Thanks to adaptive controllers, everyone has the opportunity to play at REHACARE.
