Automobile Sodermanns GmbH demonstrates that independent mobility knows no age – and that even historic vehicles can remain part of everyday life thanks to modern adaptations. Accessible classic cars: Driving pleasure without limits

Classic cars are far more than nostalgia on four wheels – for many, they represent freedom, individuality, and pure joy of driving. But what happens when mobility limitations come into play? At REHACARE 2025, Automobile Sodermanns GmbH will for the first time present a dedicated exhibition area for accessible classic cars – proving that driving pleasure and accessibility are a perfect match.

An adapted Beetle with modern conversions? A vintage car with wheelchair loading system or hand controls? This is exactly what becomes reality here. Visitors can look forward to vehicles that retain their original charm while being individually adaptable.

"Accessible classic cars are a true rarity and hardly to be found on the market – and if they are, then usually at very high prices. Since our passion also lies with classic vehicles, it has become a special concern for us to make this fascinating hobby possible for people with disabilities who want to drive themselves. That is why we equip our classic cars with suitable driving aids," explains Frank Sodermanns.

Every classic car bears small traces of time – that’s what makes it authentic and unique. And it is precisely for this reason that we can offer them at affordable prices.

REHACARE 2025: What awaits visitors at the special exhibition area

In Hall 6 and the outdoor area of the trade fair, from 17–20 September 2025, everything will revolve around accessible classic vehicles. Highlights include:

Classic cars with hand controls – some also for sale
Mobility solutions for different needs
Expert advice from KÜS, TÜV Rheinland and others
Award ceremony (Saturday, 2 p.m.) in the categories "longest journey", "oldest vehicle", "youngest driver" and "oldest driver" – each with €150 prize money and a trophy
Networking and exchange with like-minded enthusiasts – from mechanics to drivers

Special bonus: Anyone arriving with their own adapted classic car and a disability ID will receive free admission, a reserved parking space at Hall 6, and a small welcome gift – all courtesy of Sodermanns.

Accessible classic cars as a meeting point for all

With this special exhibition area, Sodermanns is creating not only a showcase for technical possibilities but also a meeting place: where the steering wheel once again becomes tangible, space opens up for exchange and for building new connections between classic car enthusiasts and the world of accessible mobility.
