Ribcap: A weighted blanket to increase sleep and inclusion

Mr. De Wilde, how did you come up with the idea of launching a weighted blanket?

Nico De Wilde: With Ribcap head protection we succeeded in creating a new category and iconic brand in the healthcare industry. The head protection market has been our core target for now and we see an exploding number of users worldwide. We're getting to tier recognition in the market. Our main mission is to take away the stigma around healthcare and/or mobility products. The weighted blanket market is the same. Up till now it has been an underdeveloped market with not very functional products, or cheap far east quality on the market. We're here to change that.

Who is the blanket for and how does a weighted blanket benefit?

Nico De Wilde: Promote a sense of calm and deep relaxation with our premium weighted duvets; helping to hush busy minds in order to fall asleep faster. How important it is to create an inclusive community?

Nico De Wilde: Inclusivity is a hot topic, and it's no wonder. Inclusion is a social issue that needs our attention. We all have access to the same tools and opportunities, but not everyone has the opportunity to enjoy them.

The fashion industry has been criticized for not being inclusive enough of people with disabilities. However, there are many companies who are trying to change that. One example of an inclusive fashion brand is Ribcap, which offers fashionable products for people with different conditions or disabilities.

It’s important to be able to participate in society without the stigma and barriers. We strive towards a community of people that can live their life to the fullest without any barriers.

Nico De Wilde: Yes, we're hard working on different products where we incorporate our mission and product knowledge. The overall goal is to create a beautiful independence for people with different special needs.
