The biggest challenge of his life came when he was permanently confined to a wheelchair after an accident at the age of 16. This profound change forced him to fight for his independence. Thanks to the strong support of his family and his own ambition, he was able to overcome this challenge and successfully manage his everyday life. Giving up was never an option for Lukas Gloßner anyway. He started playing wheelchair basketball just one year after the accident. At the beginning, he only attended training sessions occasionally, but his commitment increased significantly over time. Initially he played in the regional league in Ingolstadt, later he moved to the regional league in Munich and finally he was called up to the national league, where he was able to demonstrate his skills at the highest level.
