Actilino

Actilino is the super-compact note taker for blind users. 16 piezo ceramic Braille cells and the silent Braille keyboard make the Actilino your reliable every-day companion. In real time, Actilino displays information in Braille for tactile reading. Additionally, you get the speech output of the connected computer.
With Actilino Braille readers get access to the world. You don’t need to install software: Simply type your notes with Actilino and send it to your smartphone or PC. The built-in microphone of the Actilino allows you to make calls with such programs as Skype, FaceTime, and WhatsApp.
Actilino provides unique touch recognition. Handy Tech’s patented ATC (active tactile control) technology allows using the device like the touchscreen of a tablet. ATC offers continuous reading. When reaching the end of the displayed text, it scrolls automatically to the next text position.
At work, school, home or on the go – Actilino is always at your side.

About us

Company details

Handy Tech is one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturer of electronic aids for the Blind and Visually Impaired. With pride we can look back on 40 years of company history.

The founder of the company, Klaus-Peter Schönherr, was a pioneer in the field of assistive technology for the Blind and Visually Impaired. His invention made it possible to provide access to computer systems for blind users, for the first time. The world’s first Braille display was produced in our company’s head quarters in Horb, Germany, using the world’s first refreshable Braille presentation. Today, Braille displays, meanwhile in the sixth generation, are an essential part of equipment in the professional life of a blind person.

Handy Tech Elektronik GmbH emerged from the Blista EHG in 1994. The company foundation of Handy Tech by Dipl.-Ing. Siegfried Kipke was a new start for an innovation driven success story. Starting with 8 people, our team meanwhile has grown to more than 40 co-workers.

At Handy Tech one third of our team members are themselves blind or visually impaired. Support and advice provided by our team is based on daily experience with electronic aids in our own work environment.

It is our mission to create products which contribute to the improvements of quality of life for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Customer services are continually enhanced at Handy Tech as customer satisfaction is our prime quality guide line.

Handy Tech is known to be a manufacturer of high quality products made in Germany. Since 1997 our quality management system is certified to the highest standards of ISO 9001.
