The Raz-AT (Attendant Tilt)

Raz Rehab Shower Commode Chairs — Designed and manufactured to the highest standards of the discerning healthcare professional.

The Raz-AT (Attendant Tilt) rehab shower commode chair tilts up to 40° to provide extra pressure reduction and comfort. The unique frame design utilizes locking gas springs that help lift the seat to an upright position, making the Raz-AT one of the easiest tilting rehab shower chairs to operate.

The Raz-AT rehab shower commode chair comes standard with the Ischial & Pelvic Alignment System (IPAS), 4” of height adjustment, adjustable-tension back upholstery, molded headrest and fixture, 5” dual-locking casters, flip-up padded armrests, and a commode pan. The easy-to-clean, polished stainless steel frame fits over most toilets and is designed for easy side and front access by the user or attendant.

Raz Rehab Shower Commode Chairs

Raz Rehab Shower Commode Chairs — Designed and manufactured to the highest standards of the discerning healthcare professional.

The Raz-CAT has all of the features of our Raz-AT but in a more compact size. For pediatrics, adolescents or smaller adults, the Raz-CAT provides a fit that is better suited to physically smaller clients.

  • The base and seat frames retain the 18” width of the Raz-AT so that the chair can still be positioned over a toilet.
  • The base frame has been shorted by 3”, which makes the chair more maneuverable.
  • The seat frame depth has been reduced and a depth-adjustable back offers depths from 12” to 15” (to front of frame) or up to 17” with the front of the seat overhanging the seat frame.
  • The standard seat has an elongated aperture that works with seat depths from 12” to 15”.
  • Custom seats are available.
  • The depth-adjustable back provides growth capability, an essential component for pediatrics.
  • Back frames can be ordered in widths 14”, 16” and 18”.
  • Available back heights are 15” and 18”.
All accessories that fit the Raz-AT can be ordered on the Raz-CAT.

Only Raz offers the Ischial & Pelvic Alignment System (IPAS), which allows the commode seat aperture to be comfortably centered around the ischial tuberosities for clients with a posterior or anterior rotated pelvis. With so many adjustments and options available, the Raz-AP is a true prescriber-friendly, rehab shower chair.

About us

Company details

Raz was founded by Nelson Pang and David Harding, in Toronto, in 2004. The company was literally started from scratch, with no designs or even concepts. We only knew that this category had been massively underappreciated and that we could do better.

Our first “office” was the board room of Motion Specialties. For more than a year, there was no revenue; all of the effort was directed towards designing and testing. Our first model, the Raz-AP, started shipping within the Canadian market in late 2005. The Raz-SP arrived in early 2006 and it wasn’t until 2007 that our most popular model, the Raz-AT, was produced.

In 2009 we moved into a 5000 sq. ft. industrial building a few blocks away from Motion. This was gradually expanded to 10,000 sq. ft., at which point no more additional space was available. In 2015, we acquired a 20,000 sq. ft. building, which underwent a ground-up renovation that took more than a year to complete.

In the new building we have the space to build what we needed to be a first-class operation and to manage the introduction of the many new models that are in the development stage.
