Barrier-free beach

The seaside resort of Warnemünde is home to one of the region’s most modern beach entrances for disabled visitors. Entrance no. 4 (near the lighthouse) offers a full range of services for visitors with restricted mobility during the season. The shore of the Baltic Sea and the wicker beach chairs can be reached on a non-slip path. Along with wicker beach chair hire it is also possible to hire floating wheelchairs that enable visitors and their carer or companion to enjoy a dip in the Baltic Sea. Barrier-free toilets and parking are available right by the beach entrance. 

Another barrier-free beach entrance is available in the seaside resort of Markgrafenheide from May to October.The path leads to the center of the beach. Barrier-free parking is directly at the beach.

The Altstadt Express / Old Quater Tour ride on an articulated bus

Explore Erfurt from the comfort of a bus. All aboard for a short yet fascinating tour of Erfurt's medieval old town. On board a small and nimble bus you will drive through the narrow streets of the old town and up to the baroque fortifications of Petersberg Citadel. (Duration: 1 hour).

bade:haus norderney

The bade:haus – Europe’s largest thalassotherapy centre – on the island of Norderney is split into a family pool, a luxury spa area, several salt water baths and saunas, and offers a wide range of thalassotherapy and wellness services. In addition to the massages, salt water baths and mud packs in pampering hammocks there is also a beauty salon.

There are no steps to access the bade:haus. All areas of the thalassotherapy centre are accessible via a lift, with no further steps. There is a disabled toilet and accessible changing rooms and shower facilities. There is a hoist for access to the pool. Wheelchairs are available for hire.

The Barrier-free Travel Destinations Association in Germany is a group of cities and tourism regions which are especially committed to barrier-free tourism in Germany and who work to continuously develop and communicate barrier-free tourism in cooperation with the partners of the association.
